Crazy for Sesame Street
In retrospect, almost all of the characters on Sesame Street (and quite a few muppets) seem to have had clinical psychological problems.
Oscar the Grouch: Oppositional defiant disorder
Cookie: Compulsive overeating--trying to fill an empty space inside, to the point of occasionally eating inedible objects
The Count: OCD
Big Bird: Gender identity disorder; possibly schizophrenia, if you don't believe Snuffelupagus was real
Snuffelupagus: Disthymia (chronic, low-level depression); possibly comorbid narcolepsy
Elmo: Narcissism--refers to himself in third person, needs to be center of attention
Grover: Histrionic personality disorder--overly suggestible, self-dramatizing, considers relationships to be more intimate than they are
Animal (muppet): Bipolar; possibly comorbid ADHD
Bert & Ernie: No longer considered mentally ill; may become primary caregivers for Ernie's niece Ernestine
Have I missed or misdiagnosed any characters?

sheer brilliance. what about miss piggy? i have never seen a more conceited pig. Also, clearly obsessed with someone she just can't have...Kermit!! Lest we forget poor little Kermie. Talk about an over-achieving, people-pleaser.
Miss Piggy has a deep streak of narcissism herself, I agree. Is Kermit a people-pleaser? Maybe. Perhaps someday he'll flip out from pent-up rage.
As a person who played Big Bird on Sesame Street Live, I can tell you that yes, he is a nut. :)
I think you could include Tina. I know she is/was not a puppet but nevertheless plays an important part in their lives. She was obviously a complete fantasist seeming to talk to and interact with dumb puppets (OMG Am I really writing this)
Bring back Sesame Street.
Haha. You know, there's even this whole "Evil Bert" internet meme floating around. It's pretty funny. Sesame Street is irresistible.
